A Large apartment with two spacious bedrooms in desirable Didsbury was home to our client who’d just been offered a job overseas.
Vikki wanted to keep her property as the move abroad was only a medium term plan. Renting would offer her the flexibility of returning one day.
Wanting to get the very best price to ensure it paid for itself while she was away, she knew it needed to be in tip-top condition and ahead of the competition.Although everything was generally in a good state, the place had become a little bit tired and needed a freshen up – but the main problem was that Vikki had only 6 weeks before she needed to go abroad and she needed to find a new place to live in that time as well!Co-ordinating a variety of trades in order to do all the odd jobs needed to present her home in the best possible way to let was not something she’d be able to do with a full-time job. She just didn’t trust a variety of different trades coming and going while she was away with all of them having separate keys!
Vikki contacted us and we went round for a chat to discuss her needs.
We agreed that the best solution would be for us to look after the whole project on her behalf while she was away on a scouting trip for a potential new home.
This would save her a lot of worry and heartache and allow her to concentrate on the task in hand. A start date was set for the day after she left and we coordinated the relevant trades; painter, carpenter and carpet cleaner.A fresh lick of paint to the walls throughout, work surfaces sanded back and re-coated for the kitchens and bathrooms, doors were planed to ensure a good fit, shelves fixed, mirrors and pictures hung, furniture rearranged, external paintwork re-touched and all carpets were given a deep clean throughout.
We supervised and checked everything went smoothly and to a high standard. Then it was time to work our magic! The main focus was to de-clutter and give the bedroom at the back of the apartment a purpose. It had been used as a general dumping ground and a laundry room – It was important to ensure the property was seen as a potential ‘2 people sharing’ rental to keep the asking price high.
The apartment was styled and photographed throughout and the whole thing took a week, finishing in good time before Vikki’s return.
As soon as she walked through the door, she was amazed at what had been achieved in her absence and rang her local estate agent (once she’d taken a breather from the jet lag, that is!)It was a huge relief for Vicky when the apartment rented out after just days of being on the market
… now she just needed to pack her bags to move to the other side of the world for her new job and new life!
